A bit more about me…

One of my happiest memories takes me back to primary school, sprinting out of class with a football in my hands, racing towards the field on the first warm day of summer. We’d set up goalposts with piles of freshly cut grass – that unmistakable smell still lingers in my mind – and play for what felt like hours under the sun. Whenever I needed a break, I’d run to the porcelain drinking fountains, pressing down the stiff steel buttons with both hands to gulp down cold, refreshing water. That simple joy captures so much of who I am: someone who has always been drawn to the freedom, shared joy, and potential of sport. Growing up, football was my passion, with Queens Park Rangers as my team and dreams of one day stepping onto the pitch as a player. Over time, my love for sport evolved into an appreciation of its power to inspire and transform lives. However, I also learned firsthand how the messages we receive in sport – whether from role models or authority figures – can shape us, for better or worse. Through my experiences, I’ve come to understand that sport is neither inherently good nor bad; it’s a tool. What matters is how we use it – how we harness its reach and values to create meaningful change for society and the environment. Sport has unparalleled influence. It can unite communities, inspire action, and shed light on critical issues like climate change, which is intertwined with so many social challenges today. As someone who works at the intersection of sport, sustainability, and education, I am committed to ensuring that sport lives up to its potential as a force for good. I am driven by the opportunity to collaborate with others who share this vision – people who recognise sport’s unique ability to inspire, educate, and drive change. Together, we can make a difference.
